The National Information Technology Board, in collaboration with the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration, has enabled digital property governance for citizens of Islamabad through the Pak App. Under the new system, residents can now complete the digital registration of Sale Deeds and General Power of Attorney documents directly through the app, removing the need for manual paperwork and in person visits to complete these property related transactions.
The digitized service is designed to eliminate the long queues and administrative hassle typically associated with property registration processes, allowing citizens to handle these transactions from any location and at any time rather than being restricted to office hours or physical visits to relevant government departments. This shift reflects a broader effort to bring traditionally paper based bureaucratic processes into a fully digital format, aligning property registration with similar digitization initiatives already introduced across other government services in Pakistan.
According to NITB, the new system offers a completely digitized process for handling property registrations, supported by streamlined processing and end to end status tracking that allows applicants to monitor the progress of their submissions throughout the registration process. The system also incorporates advanced verification measures intended to ensure complete fraud protection, addressing security concerns that are particularly relevant given the sensitive and often high value nature of property related transactions such as sale deeds and power of attorney documentation.
Citizens interested in using the new digital registration service can download the Pak App, available on both Android and iOS platforms, and apply for the relevant services directly through the application. The initiative adds to a growing list of government services being digitized under Pakistan’s broader smart governance push, with NITB and ICTA positioning this latest addition as part of an ongoing effort to modernize public service delivery and reduce the administrative burden citizens face when completing routine but consequential government transactions such as property registration in the federal capital.
