NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi is set to host the first International Conference on AI and IoT for Engineering (AIIE 2026) on November 11, 2026. Organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the conference will bring together researchers, academics, engineers, professionals, students and innovators to discuss the use of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things technologies and connected systems in modern engineering. The event is designed as a platform for research exchange, technical discussions, collaboration and knowledge sharing across emerging engineering technologies.
AIIE 2026 will cover a broad range of technology areas, including artificial intelligence and machine learning in engineering, Internet of Things and connected engineering systems, AIoT, digital twins and data-driven engineering. The conference will also address smart energy and sustainability, robotics, autonomous systems and other emerging technologies. These areas represent the increasing use of software, connected devices, data and intelligent systems within engineering applications, with the conference providing researchers and industry professionals an opportunity to present and discuss related work.
The conference will be led by Prof. Dr. Haider Ali, Conference Secretary and In-Charge of the Intelligent Mechanical Engineering Systems (IMES) Lab at NED University. Researchers, students, engineers, professionals and innovators are invited to submit abstracts, with abstract submission available free of charge. The conference registration fee is Rs. 500 for students and Rs. 1,000 for professionals. Early-bird registration is scheduled to close on October 9, while the deadline for abstract submissions is October 15, final acceptance is scheduled for October 26 and registration will close on October 31.
The event will provide an academic and technical forum for examining how AI, IoT and related technologies can be integrated into engineering systems. By bringing together participants from research, academia and industry, AIIE 2026 will focus on exchanging technical knowledge and exploring applications involving intelligent systems, automation, connected infrastructure and data-driven engineering. The conference is scheduled to take place at NED University in Karachi on November 11.
