National Bank of Pakistan has onboarded the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Kohat onto its digital cash management platform, enabling smooth and accessible fee collection through advanced payment technologies. This collaboration introduces a comprehensive system for online collections via NBP’s Cash Management Division, allowing parents and students to pay examination and educational fees with ease using NBP branches, digital banking platforms, and other banks in Pakistan. The initiative integrates both over-the-counter and digital channels, aiming to offer widespread payment accessibility through NBP’s Digital App, Alternate Delivery Channels, and the 1Link Reverse Aggregation Model under 1Bill.

This partnership represents a strategic move to upgrade educational fee collection by embedding fintech into the academic system. With the implementation of API-based collections, stakeholders now have the flexibility to choose their preferred payment method, whether it be through direct NBP branches or remote access via digital platforms. Additionally, BISE Kohat has been integrated into NBP’s Smart Pay portal, enabling the board to initiate and receive digital payments more efficiently while minimizing cash handling and associated risks.

To officially recognize this collaboration, a signing ceremony was hosted at the BISE Kohat office. The event was attended by senior NBP officials including Nabeel Baig, Divisional Head (A) Cash Management Division; Asad Kakakhel, GM RBG KPK; Dawood Jan, Regional Head RBG Peshawar Region; Rana Faisal, Wing Head (A) CMD; Naveed Altaf, RM CMD; and Qaiser, Branch Manager BISE Kohat. From BISE Kohat’s side, Chairman Muhammad Imtiaz Ayub and Director Finance Arshad Javed welcomed the initiative and commended the bank’s efforts in advancing financial integration within educational systems.

The collaboration enhances BISE Kohat’s operational efficiency by removing dependency on manual and cash-based transactions, a move aligned with national digitization goals. It also reflects NBP’s growing role in transforming traditional payment processes through its diverse suite of Cash Management products and services. By enabling seamless payment processing and data traceability, this partnership strengthens the transparency and auditability of financial operations within the education sector.

The inclusion of 1Link’s 1Bill model ensures interoperability across banking channels, allowing fee payments from any participating bank in Pakistan. This interoperability is crucial for promoting inclusive digital financial services, particularly in semi-urban and rural regions where access to banking infrastructure may be limited. By enabling multiple payment entry points, NBP’s approach provides both flexibility and convenience to a wide user base.

NBP continues to expand its Cash Management Division across Pakistan, with BISE Kohat being one of the latest additions to its growing portfolio of digital public sector partnerships. The collaboration sets a precedent for how educational institutions can adopt financial technology to enhance service delivery and optimize internal systems while contributing to Pakistan’s broader goals of financial inclusion and digitization.
