National Workshop on Big Data & Technologies 2018

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE) is the world’s largest association of technical professionals with more than 420,000 members in over 160 countries around the world. Their worldwide objective is to promote educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines. They serve technical professionals and students who are looking to both foster working relationships and gain access to the latest technical research and knowledge. The IEEE chapter in Lahore is one of the biggest in Pakistan and frequently boast a range of workshops in the university. Recently, they conducted a workshop series which aimed to go over all of the fundamental subject areas in the IEEE called the National Big Data and Technologies Workshop.

The National Big Data and Technologies Workshop 2018 is a series of workshops which provides a hands-on experience to data analytics. The event took place during 24-25th of March 2018 at the Lahore University of Management Sciences and was organized by the IEEE LUMS Student Branch and the IEEE COMSOC Lahore Section. The series comprised of technical talks, hands-on Data Analytics workshop and interactive sessions.  As these workshops falls under the IEEE Lahore section, it was boasted by a series of experts who conducted these sessions who have had decades worth of experience in these subject areas. These sessions included Technical Lecture by Experts and Hands on Data Analytics which was bolstered by an extensive Networking Opportunity for these individuals to interact with like-minded people and higher ups in various companies to further boost their own brand name.

Recognizing the need of understanding the importance of deep learning, which includes its basic and further applications, this workshop also highlighted the understanding of Big Data Analytics and its subsequent processes. By the end of these sessions, the individuals attending these sessions received completion certificates as a proof of their qualification.
