ISLAMABAD: National Information Technology Board and Federal Board of Revenue have signed a memorandum of understanding under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project to strengthen digital collaboration and service integration across public sector platforms. The agreement is aimed at improving coordination between institutions and expanding citizen access to revenue related services through a unified national digital framework.

Officials stated that the partnership seeks to streamline the delivery of taxation and revenue services by integrating Federal Board of Revenue systems into the broader government digital ecosystem. By connecting databases and service portals within a structured framework, the initiative is expected to enhance transparency, reduce procedural inefficiencies and simplify access for individuals and businesses. The integration will allow users to access revenue related facilities through consolidated digital platforms rather than navigating multiple standalone systems, thereby improving convenience and administrative consistency.

Under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project, the collaboration is designed to align technological infrastructure with evolving governance needs. Authorities indicated that improved interoperability between institutions will support real time data exchange, strengthen compliance mechanisms and enable more informed decision making. The unified approach is also expected to reduce duplication of processes and foster greater accountability within revenue administration by embedding standardized digital workflows.

The memorandum reflects the government’s broader Digital Pakistan agenda, which prioritizes innovation, institutional coordination and citizen centric service delivery. By integrating Federal Board of Revenue services within a cohesive digital architecture, the initiative aims to lay a stronger foundation for connected governance and improved public service access. Officials described the development as part of ongoing efforts to build a more efficient and transparent digital state through collaboration between key national institutions.
