The second announcement that came in for Pakistan at the GLOMO Awards2 2017 was for Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Anusha Rahman.

She was awarded in the category for Government Leadership by GSMA, and while thanking the host team, she said:

Thank you so much GSMA and the jury for your confidence in the policies that Government of Pakistan is pursuing. We’re very excited and extremely humble on this occasion. This is our second award by GSMA and third including the UN Award, so I am extremely humbled and I look forward to setting milestones after milestones which I am hopeful each one of us here are equally championing. This award belongs to the people of Pakistan and the telecom industry who is aiming to connect the unconnected, in partnership with the government of Pakistan.

Back in 2016, Government of Pakistan was given the “Transparent Spectrum Auction Award”, and once again, Pakistan makes it to the global mobile map!
