The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications has suggested tax breaks for freelancers that would last for the next ten years. According to the Ministry, such a move would improve exports while also expanding job prospects.

Furthermore, the goal of this suggested step is to make account opening considerably easier, as well as to remove double taxation in the telecommunications industry as a whole. This proposal was considered at a meeting of the Committee for IT Export Growth, which was chaired by Syed Aminul Haque, the Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and aimed to achieve +ACQ-3.5 billion in exports by the end of the current fiscal year.

Also addressed were efforts to make freelancing more accessible to the general public. In addition, the secretary IT was tasked with bringing this issue up in a meeting with the FBR and SBP.
