Prime Minister Imran Khan declared on Wednesday that the government is focused on developing a startup-friendly ecosystem in order to boost Pakistan’s e-commerce sector. The Prime Minister emphasised this in a meeting with young entrepreneurs and startups, when he stated that the government is working to remove any barriers to the country’s economic progress.

Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razzak Dawood, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Dr. Shehbaz Gill, Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Azfar Ahsan, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, Chairman Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) Amir Hashmi, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.

The Prime Minister praised the importance of startups and their founders in creating numerous opportunities for the youth, promising to properly support them and ensuring that they are able to realise their full potential. Furthermore, the Prime Minister has instructed authorities to take comprehensive measures to resolve startup problems such as foreign investment, digital signatures, intellectual property rights, and other issues.
