Govt to Establish Sci-Tech Institutes for Socio-Economic Development

The government is planning to establish science and technology institutes in different disciplines for rapid socio-economic development in the country.

According to a report, Ministry of Science and Technology has devised a national science, technology and innovation strategy, where a summary for approval of the strategy document has been sent to the Prime Minister.

After approval of the strategy, different science and technology institutes would be established across the country, including backward areas within ten years.

Science and Technology Ministry is also considering establishing precision systems training centre in Gwadar at the cost of over 777 million rupees.

In Skardu, fruit processing and analytical laboratories upgrading, and establishment of gemstone cutting and polishing centre at Skardu are also under consideration.
