The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) has entered into three contracts with Knowledge Platform and a consortium of education technology vendors, including Orenda (Taleemabad), SABAQ (Muse), Learning Pitch, and NearPeer. The purpose of these contracts is to make K-12 content accessible nationwide through television and digital channels.

This initiative builds on the success of Tele School, which provided educational content during the COVID-19 pandemic and reached over 7 million students. The consortium, led by Knowledge Platform, will provide content for various subjects such as Math, Science, English, Urdu, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Pakistan Studies, catering to different grade levels.

Under the agreements, the companies will license their content for Early Childhood Development (ECD) through K12 to the government. This content will be disseminated via Tele School and digital channels, benefiting over 50,000,000 students across the country. In addition to content dissemination, the consortium will conduct community engagement pilots and research to improve learning outcomes and establish scalable use cases. An accelerated learning program will also be introduced for out-of-school children who have completed their primary education.

Speaking at the occasion, Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, Additional Secretary MOFEPT, emphasized the utilization of digital content in the education sector, highlighting its potential to provide access to additional and useful learning methods for students across all backgrounds. He further mentioned that this initiative will promote critical thinking and innovation among students throughout the country.

Mahboob Mahmood, CEO of Knowledge Platform, expressed his pleasure in collaborating with the Ministry and leading education technology companies to address the K-12 education challenges in Pakistan. The program will include community engagement pilots and intensive research to evolve best practices in education technology implementation.

CEOs of partner companies, Taleemabad, Learning Pitch, SABAQ, and NearPeer, also shared their enthusiasm for the partnership and their commitment to providing quality education to students. They emphasized the potential of partnerships to unlock the potential of Pakistani students and make world-class education accessible to those who have been traditionally left out.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has been actively providing distance learning through television, radio, and internet platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their goal is to make distance learning and digital education essential and sustainable elements of the public education strategy in Pakistan, benefiting both out-of-school and in-school children.

Knowledge Platform is a leading learning solutions company in Pakistan, serving a large number of students and schools across the country. They provide innovative digital learning programs and educational games and competitions covering a wide range of subjects.

Taleemabad works with schools to ensure continuous learning. They offer teacher training, resources for world-class lessons, and enable students to continue learning at home through their app, TV, and radio broadcasts. Their mobile app has been widely downloaded, and their pedagogy has received recognition with the prestigious WISE award for education.

Learning Pitch has been recognized as the best ed-tech startup in Pakistan by PASHA. Their aim is to make quality education affordable and accessible through their online learning platform.

SABAQ is an award-winning ed-tech company that focuses on making learning engaging and fun for primary-grade students. They transform rigorous curriculum-aligned lessons into an interactive digital world to ignite students’ passion for learning.

NearPeer is an ed-tech startup that offers a learning ecosystem centered around video courses. They have impacted the lives of millions of students and have developed expertise in the test-prep market, providing courses for various institutions.

The ILM Association is an association of education technology companies in Pakistan, and all members of the winning consortium are part of this association.
