Mastercard and UPaisa Launch New Debit Card

Mastercard and UPaisa have introduced a new physical and virtual debit card, expanding the digital payments landscape in Pakistan. Consumers can now benefit from secure and convenient online shopping both domestically and internationally.

The new debit card offers a wide range of features, including the ability to use over 120,000 POS in-store machines and withdraw cash from more than 18,000 ATMs nationwide. UPaisa wallet users can also enjoy enhanced security features and fast transactions.

Muhammad Nana, Senior Vice President, Digital Partnerships, EEMEA, at Mastercard, highlighted the partnership’s alignment with Pakistan’s Vision 2025 and its goal of promoting a digital economy. He emphasized the card’s role in transforming the country’s payments landscape and providing seamless and secure consumer experiences.

Syed Atif Raza, Chief Marketing Officer of PTCL and Ufone 4G, praised the UPaisa debit card as a testament to the company’s commitment to improving the digital banking experience. He emphasized the card’s ability to cater to the evolving digital and financial needs of customers and promote financial inclusion.

UPaisa offers a variety of financial services, including money transfers, bill payments, mobile top-ups, and ATM cardless cash withdrawals. The app aims to provide accessible and affordable financial services to both underserved and unbanked populations.
