Master Changan Motors Limited has achieved a significant milestone with the start of volume production of the Deepal S05 REEV, marking Pakistan’s first locally assembled premium Range-Extended Electric SUV. The development reflects the company’s growing role in Pakistan’s automotive sector, where it has established itself as the country’s fourth largest automotive brand with a customer base exceeding 65,000. The launch underlines Master Changan’s focus on introducing advanced mobility solutions while expanding local manufacturing capabilities in line with evolving market demand.

Following its unveiling at the Pakistan Auto Show 2025 on November 14, the Deepal S05 REEV has now entered its official delivery phase. Production is underway at MCML’s Karachi manufacturing facility, which has transitioned from equipment installation to full-scale production in under 90 days. The facility employs advanced robotics and next-generation manufacturing processes, enabling efficient assembly while maintaining global quality standards. The rapid production rollout highlights MCML’s operational readiness and its investment in modern manufacturing infrastructure within Pakistan.

The Deepal S05 REEV represents the practical implementation of Master Changan’s new brand philosophy, Moving the New Generation, which focuses on aligning advanced New Energy Vehicle technologies with local infrastructure and driving conditions. The REEV approach is designed to ease the shift toward electric mobility by addressing range-related concerns commonly associated with electric vehicles. According to MCML, the S05 delivers a fully electric driving experience while offering a combined range exceeding 1,000 kilometres. Powered by a 27.28 kWh Golden Shield Battery, the onboard range extender operates solely as a generator, allowing drivers to maintain extended mobility without compromising the electric driving feel or instant torque delivery.

Built on Changan’s dedicated EPA1 pure electric platform, the Deepal S05 features a balanced 50:50 weight distribution for improved handling, road grip, and ride comfort. The hybrid aluminium steel chassis is assembled using advanced robotic riveting processes, introduced locally for the first time, enhancing structural integrity and safety. The vehicle is also equipped with premium features including Zero-Gravity co-pilot seating, more than 20 Level-2 ADAS functions, Remote Straight In and Out, and Mobile Remote Control functionality. With the commencement of volume production, Master Changan has taken a decisive step toward strengthening Pakistan’s electric vehicle ecosystem, demonstrating how locally assembled electric mobility solutions can combine innovation, performance, and market relevance while supporting the country’s broader automotive and industrial growth.
