Lahore Zoo has unveiled an initiative aimed at revolutionizing the way people experience wildlife, with the launch of its state-of-the-art HoloVerse. This cutting-edge project merges the physical world with virtual and mixed reality technology, offering zoo visitors an immersive and interactive wildlife experience like never before.

In partnership with a private company, Lahore Zoo has incorporated three major technological innovations within the HoloVerse: VR, Mixed Reality, and Hologram 3D Cinema. This venture is designed to not only provide entertainment but also educate the public about wildlife conservation and offer a new way to engage with animals, even those that visitors may never have the chance to see in person.

Sheikh Muhammad Zahid, the Director of Lahore Zoo, explained to Express News the transformative power of these technologies. Through the VR experience, visitors will be transported into the heart of a jungle, encountering dangerous and exotic wild animals in their natural habitats. The VR setup offers a thrilling adventure where individuals can get up close to wild creatures, simulating the experience of being surrounded by them. The realism of the virtual world is so intense that during a simulation, an African lion appears to attack, making the visitor feel the pulse-pounding danger of the encounter.

The Mixed Reality experience is another major attraction, providing an interactive setting where virtual creatures, such as dinosaurs, elephants, and lions, come to life. Visitors will be able to engage with these animals, capture photographs with them, and witness these ancient and modern-day creatures in action. The MR technology blends the real world with the virtual, making it an exciting and educational activity for families and individuals alike.

The Hologram 3D Cinema is the third component, offering a cinematic experience that allows visitors to watch wildlife-related films in 3D. This addition complements the immersive experiences provided by the VR and MR technologies, giving attendees a well-rounded and engaging exploration of the animal kingdom.

During an exclusive demonstration, the Express News reporter had the chance to experience the Mixed Reality technology firsthand. In the demo, the reporter found himself face-to-face with an array of virtual creatures, from towering dinosaurs to powerful lions, which offered a glimpse into how the HoloVerse is blurring the lines between reality and fiction. Visitors will not only be able to observe these animals but can also take photographs with them, adding a personal touch to the experience.

The zoo has made these experiences affordable, with tickets priced at 100 Pakistani rupees for the VR experience, 200 rupees for Mixed Reality, and 300 rupees for the Hologram 3D Cinema. For those who wish to explore the full range of experiences, there are options to purchase packages that allow access to all three technologies, or they can select individual experiences based on their preferences.

To ensure maximum accessibility, family and student packages are under consideration, which will offer discounts for groups and educational institutions. This initiative aims to make the HoloVerse accessible to a wide range of visitors, including families with children and students who want to learn more about wildlife in an engaging and interactive way.

Zahid further expressed his gratitude to the individuals who helped make the HoloVerse a reality, including senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, the Secretary of Forests and Wildlife Mudassar Waheed Malik, and especially the DG Wildlife, Mudassar Riaz Malik, whose vision brought this idea to life. Zahid emphasized that this technological advancement was not just about entertainment but about providing a unique recreational and educational opportunity for citizens, showcasing how technology can be used to further public engagement with nature and conservation efforts.

The launch of the HoloVerse is a significant step for Lahore Zoo, positioning it as a leader in innovative wildlife experiences in the region. By introducing these cutting-edge technologies, the zoo is not only enhancing the visitor experience but is also paving the way for future developments that could bring new, exciting opportunities to the public. The HoloVerse is expected to be a major draw for locals and tourists alike, offering a fresh, thrilling, and educational approach to exploring wildlife conservation in the digital age.
