Lahore is on the fast track making itself a complete digital city, with PITB digitizing the police system, to making free WiFi available to the public.
According to the acting Punjab Inspector General of Police Captain (Retd) Usman Khattak, at a meeting held at the Integrated Command and Control Center in Lahore, earlier this week, the e-ticketing project that is to handle traffic violations is to be completed and implemented within a month in Lahore.

According to Khattak, the e-ticketing platform is an excellent idea to solve citizens’ problems with traffic police and he ordered that the e-ticketing system should immediately be implemented in the city without delay.
Mock exercises for emergency situations through the IC3 project has been organized by Usman Khattak and he also emphasized that Rescue 1122, police and other emergency services stakeholders should also participate in those.

In a briefing to the IGP MD Safe City Project Ali Amir Malik said that the data from a month’s worth of footage was recorded through Safe City cameras. He said it would be saved in the database for seven years and record terrorism activities and other serious incidents. He stated the process of optical fiber installation is near completion and cameras will be installed on the Motorway Toll Plaza in a few weeks.
Also digital signboards are to be installed on the model roads of the city in a few weeks along with training courses that are to be initiated for the promotion of traffic wardens and successful candidates must be elevated.
