Karandaaz Pakistan and the IBA Aman Centre for Entrepreneurial Development have announced the Fintech Disrupt Challenge 2017. This competition is to give will give Pakistani start-ups a chance to showcase their ideas in an attempt to win as much as $100,000 in funding.
Spanning over five main areas, the competition invites the most innovative ideas from all over the country in fields including digital payments, access to financial services, e-commerce and interoperability solutions to enable greater financial.

We encourage young FinTech start-ups with limited financial assets from across Pakistan to apply and pitch their innovative ideas that carry the potential to revolutionise the country’s financial landscape. As is the tradition at Karandaaz, solutions that cater to women’s financial inclusion are highly encouraged for the #FDC2017”
Startup from the five thematic areas are encouraged to apply, two grants of up to $100,000 and five grants of up to $20,000 will be given to the start-ups that have a high growth potential and ground-breaking financial technology solutions.

The deadline to fill out applications is May 9th 2017. Shortlisted applicants will be pitching their ideas on the 20th May 2017. More details on the eligibility criteria and details of the program can be found on the Karandaaz Pakistan website.
