The second Digital Pakistan Cyber Security Hackathon 2022 was organised by Ignite, a public sector organisation affiliated with the Ministry of IT & Telecom, with the goal of enhancing Pakistan’s cybersecurity readiness, protection, and incident response capabilities.

Recall that 1,984 individuals and 904 teams registered from all over Pakistan; of those, 790 individuals and 315 teams qualified for the Quetta, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Islamabad city qualifiers.

After being shortlisted from the 475 participants and 230 teams who registered for the online competition in Karachi, 151 participants and 56 teams will now compete in the Karachi Qualifier on December 1, 2022.

The qualifier winners will advance to the grand finale, which will take place on December 17, 2022, in Islamabad.
Hands-on workshops and cybersecurity drills were held in Pakistan’s major cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, and Sukkur, prior to the start of the second Digital Pakistan Cybersecurity Hackathon in October 2022.

The Pakistani government owns the nonprofit Ignite National Technology Fund, which is run by the ministry of information technology and telecommunications.
