Mobile phone services will be partially suspended on specific routes in Karachi until 8:00 am on Wednesday due to the ongoing visit of the Iranian President.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issued a statement confirming the suspension, citing directives from the Ministry of Interior.
“Mobile services will remain unavailable on a few designated routes in Karachi from 3:00 pm on Tuesday to 8:00 am on Wednesday,”
the PTA statement said.
This measure is part of heightened security protocols implemented for the Iranian President’s visit to Karachi. The announcement comes after Karachi’s Commissioner declared a public holiday for Tuesday in light of the visit.
Residents are advised to plan accordingly and check with their mobile service providers for specific routes affected by the suspension.
