JazzCash, in partnership with Mobilink Bank, has been appointed as the exclusive digital disbursement partner for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme, positioning the mobile financial services platform as the primary channel through which the provincial government will deliver monthly fuel relief directly to eligible citizens. The appointment extends JazzCash’s growing role in government-led social protection programmes and comes at a time when demand for digital disbursement infrastructure has risen sharply, with multiple tiers of government simultaneously rolling out fuel subsidy initiatives in response to the ongoing energy crisis and elevated petrol prices.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme provides PKR 2,000 per month to eligible low-income citizens, targeting motorcycle, scooter, and rickshaw owners whose vehicles are registered in their own name with completed ownership transfer. Applications are submitted through the Dastak App, requiring applicants to enter vehicle registration and chassis details along with personal information including their Computerised National Identity Card number, registered mobile number, complete address, and district selection, with supporting documents uploaded digitally for verification by the Excise and Taxation Office. With JazzCash now confirmed as the exclusive disbursement partner for the scheme, approved beneficiaries will receive their monthly subsidy directly into their JazzCash wallets, removing the need for physical cash distribution and reducing the risk of leakage that has historically affected social welfare programmes in the province.

The appointment mirrors JazzCash’s concurrent role at the federal level, where the company, in partnership with Mobilink Bank, has completed the disbursement of the first tranche of financial relief under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Fuel Package 2026, reaching verified beneficiaries including operators of buses, trucks, long-haul vehicles, and delivery vans through real-time transfers directly into JazzCash wallets, with the next phase set to expand coverage to motorcycle owners. Murtaza Ali, Chief Executive Officer of JazzCash, said the company was honoured by the government’s trust, adding that when people are under financial pressure, the speed of relief matters as much as the relief itself, and that JazzCash’s network of over one million Raast QR merchants and agents, combined with its experience working alongside the government across multiple national and provincial programmes, positions it to get funds to the right person quickly and securely. JazzCash has also activated a dedicated social welfare helpline at 0800-00444 to assist confirmed beneficiaries with account opening and wallet activation, while clarifying that as a disbursement partner it can only assist those who have received official eligibility confirmation through government channels.
