Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, and The Citizens Foundation (TCF) are making significant strides in empowering girls to pursue careers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Their three-year partnership through the Digital Learning Program (DLP) has equipped over 180,000 students in 1,600 TCF schools with essential digital skills.
The DLP focuses on equipping students from a young age, with a special emphasis on bridging the gender gap in ICT. Over 8,000 female teachers have also been trained on the latest ICT tools to enhance their teaching capabilities.
To celebrate Girls in ICT Day, Jazz employees interacted with TCF students, learning about their experiences with the DLP. Students showcased the program’s positive impact on their learning and career aspirations.
“Jazz is deeply invested in women’s empowerment in ICT,” said Syed Fakhar Ahmed, Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Officer at Jazz. “The DLP is revolutionizing mindsets and shaping the career paths of girls aspiring to enter technology.”
Syed Asaad Ayub Ahmad, CEO of TCF, emphasized the program’s holistic approach. “The DLP encompasses curriculum design, software, and hardware support, encouraging more girls to dream of ICT careers and shape the digital future,” he said.
Jazz’s commitment to women’s empowerment extends beyond the DLP. Initiatives like the Women In Social Entrepreneurship (WISE) program and the Jazz-GSMA Connected Women Partnership highlight their dedication to bridging the digital gender divide.
