Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja will join the 4th Sustainability Investment Expo (SIE) as chief guest at its Awards Plenary, according to an announcement by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). The plenary is titled Connecting Ideas, Investment and Impact for Resilient Development, and it will also include a ribbon cutting for the expo. The session is listed as Plenary 1.2 in the programme, and it is scheduled for November 2, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time. The minister heads the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication of the Government of Pakistan, and her participation was also acknowledged by her team in the announcement.
The expo is held alongside the 29th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC) of SDPI, which carries the theme Rethinking Development in an Age of Disruption. Both events will take place from November 2 to 5, 2026, at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in Islamabad. By placing the expo next to the conference, the institute brings the discussion of development policy together with a platform that is focused on investment, so that participants can follow the debates of the conference and also see how ideas and projects are presented to investors at the expo.
The awards plenary has been designed to connect ideas, investment and impact, and its title refers to resilient development. The programme lists it as the session that includes the ribbon cutting for the 4th Sustainability Investment Expo, which means that it marks the formal opening of the expo on the first day. Having the federal minister for IT and telecommunication as chief guest links the opening session to the technology sector, and it adds a government voice from the digital side to a gathering that otherwise concentrates on sustainability and development.
Interested participants can register through the registration link that SDPI has shared. The announcement was posted with the hashtags SDC2026 and SIE2026, and the poster of the event carries the line Be part of the change. With the conference and the expo running for four days at AIOU, the awards plenary on November 2 will begin the programme, with Shaza Fatima Khawaja as the chief guest at the session on resilient development.
