Krafton’s internal developer, inZOI Studio, has officially announced that its life simulation game inZOI will be coming to Sony’s PlayStation 5 console in early 2026. While an Xbox version is still under consideration, the studio confirmed that no final decision has been made for Microsoft’s platform. The team stated it is fully committed to delivering an experience optimized for PS5 and will share additional details, including a firm release date, closer to launch. This announcement marks an important milestone for the title, which has so far been available only on PC through Steam Early Access.

inZOI launched on Steam Early Access on March 28, where it was met with substantial hype and commercial success. Within its first week, the title sold over one million copies, establishing itself as one of the most successful early access debuts of the year. The game’s appeal lies in its detailed life simulation mechanics, which give players freedom to create, customize, and manage virtual lives in a highly interactive environment. However, despite its strong start, recent user sentiment has shifted. Over the past month, Steam reviews have been rated “Mixed,” with only 47% of 618 recent reviews giving it a positive rating. This feedback points to concerns among the community about the current depth of gameplay, with many players calling for more content and refined systems before the game’s full release.

Considering the timeline for the PS5 launch, it is unlikely the game will appear on Sony’s platform while still in early access, as the company generally does not permit such releases. This aligns with the studio’s initial plan for a one-year early access period, suggesting that both the PC version 1.0 and the PS5 release could land around March 2026. While this schedule appears reasonable, it leaves open the possibility of a delay if the developers decide to extend the early access phase to address the feedback from players. A careful balance between adhering to timelines and ensuring quality could be key to inZOI’s long-term reputation.

Beyond core gameplay, inZOI has embraced user creativity through its June Modkit update, which allows players to design and share user-generated content using a dedicated toolkit available for free on the Epic Games Store. This move has already helped foster a more engaged community, with players producing custom items, characters, and gameplay features. It remains uncertain whether this level of mod support will be available on PS5, as console ecosystems often impose stricter limitations on third-party content sharing. Nevertheless, the feature’s success on PC highlights its potential importance in keeping the game’s player base active and invested.

With the PS5 version now on the horizon and discussions ongoing about an Xbox port, inZOI stands at a pivotal point in its development journey. The next several months will be critical for inZOI Studio to refine gameplay, expand content offerings, and ensure that the transition from early access to full release satisfies both existing PC players and the console audience waiting to experience the title for the first time.
