At Indus AI Week, the AI For Her Pavilion became a stage for emphasizing the transformative impact of women in technology. Dr. Naveed Sherwani, Ph.D, S.Q, H.I, addressed attendees with a compelling message: artificial intelligence is not merely a technological tool but a driver of social and economic progress. By embracing AI, women in Pakistan are not only advancing their professional journeys but also influencing the broader society. The ripple effect of a woman mastering AI extends from her immediate family to her community and ultimately benefits the entire nation. This perspective reflects Pakistan’s growing commitment to fostering inclusive innovation through initiatives supported by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).

Tabinda Islam, known as Tabz and CEO of Arfa Kareem Group, also shared her insights at the pavilion, highlighting the critical role of female-led innovation in shaping Pakistan’s technological landscape. Her discussion focused on moving beyond the traditional view of women occupying support roles and instead recognizing them as founders, visionaries, and builders. By leading projects, launching startups, and contributing to research and development in AI, women are redefining the tech ecosystem and demonstrating that innovation thrives when diverse perspectives are included.

The AI For Her Pavilion has provided a platform for both dialogue and inspiration, showcasing how strategic participation by women in AI can drive national progress. Panels, keynote sessions, and interactive discussions emphasized that women’s involvement in AI is vital not just for career growth but also for broader economic development. The pavilion reinforced the idea that supporting women in technology ensures a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable digital ecosystem in Pakistan. Such efforts are aligned with national policies led by Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and PSEB, aimed at increasing digital literacy and technological leadership opportunities across the country.

Indus AI Week demonstrates a broader vision of a digitally empowered Pakistan where collaboration between government, private sector, and tech innovators is essential. By centering on women’s leadership, events like the AI For Her Pavilion illustrate how inclusive engagement accelerates the adoption of artificial intelligence while building a talent pipeline that benefits multiple sectors. As female innovators continue to advance AI projects, launch startups, and influence policy discussions, Pakistan’s technology sector is increasingly being shaped by a diverse and forward-looking workforce. These developments signify a crucial step toward a digital economy that leverages the full potential of all its citizens.
