The IEEE Karachi Section has announced the second edition of the IEEE Karachi Humanitarian Technology Conference 2026, scheduled to take place on May 15 and 16 at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University. The conference, titled KHI HTC 2026, will center on the theme of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things for sustainable humanitarian development, bringing together researchers, technologists, and industry professionals to explore solutions aimed at addressing societal challenges through innovation.

The event is designed as a cross disciplinary platform that encourages collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers. According to the organizers, the conference will focus on applying emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and connected systems to real world humanitarian issues. Discussions will cover a wide range of areas including applied artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, software engineering, sustainable management practices, and humanitarian technology driven leadership. The programme aims to highlight how technological advancements can be used to create meaningful social impact while addressing pressing development needs.

The conference will feature keynote sessions, technical paper presentations, and industry focused discussions, providing participants with opportunities to present research and engage with experts. A call for papers has been issued, inviting original research contributions in IEEE format, with submissions undergoing a peer review process. Selected papers may be considered for publication in IEEE indexed venues, subject to quality and compliance requirements. Important dates include a paper acceptance notification on April 5, 2026, and final camera ready submissions due by April 30, 2026.

In addition to academic sessions, the event will emphasize industry collaboration and community engagement through panel discussions, technology showcases, and innovation focused activities. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical implementation while encouraging participation from startups and emerging innovators. With a strong focus on sustainable development and technology driven solutions, the conference reflects growing efforts within Pakistan to leverage advanced digital tools for social and economic progress.
