IEEE CTSoc UET Taxila, in collaboration with the IEEE SPS/EMBS Joint Student Branch Chapter, held an orientation event titled CTSoc x SPS/EMBS Orientation 2K26 at the Electronics Engineering Department Lecture Hall on September 17. The event was organized as a celebration of innovation, collaboration, leadership, and volunteer excellence, bringing together members from both chapters to officially welcome the new academic chapter year.

The orientation session, which began at 11:30 AM, was structured around several distinct components designed to engage both new and returning members of the two IEEE chapters. According to the event details, the programme included a keynote address delivered by the chapter chairperson, intended to offer insights and inspiration drawn from chapter leadership experience. The session also featured recognition and awards specifically for the chapters’ top volunteers, honoring their dedication, impact, and outstanding contributions to chapter activities over the previous term.

Beyond the keynote and awards components, the event included a group photo session intended to create a collective visual record commemorating the occasion, along with light refreshments that gave attendees an opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers and members in a more informal setting following the structured portions of the programme. This combination of formal recognition alongside more casual networking elements reflects a common format used by student chapter orientation events aimed at both honoring past contributions and building community among members heading into a new chapter cycle.

The event was jointly organized by IEEE CTSoc UET Taxila and the IEEE SPS/EMBS Joint Student Chapter at UET Taxila, with both chapters framing the orientation around the theme of inspiring, empowering, and recognizing student contributions to the organizations. The collaborative nature of the event, bringing together two separate IEEE student chapters under a single joint orientation programme, reflects a broader pattern of cross chapter collaboration within IEEE’s student branch network, an approach that can help pool resources and engagement across chapters with overlapping membership or complementary technical focus areas at the same university.
