ICAP Host Webinar: Pakistan Economy: Post COVID-19 | Central Bank’s Perspective

The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan (ICAP) is a body that regulates the profession of accountancy in the country. It was established on 01 July 1961 with the prime objective of regulating the profession of accounting in Pakistan. ICAP offers services by fostering and nurturing the young talent for leadership through its robust education and examination system throughout the years producing high calibre professionals. ICAP is currently also having a series of webinars as a way to produce informative content for the public with a series of webinars. They are recently announcing the second webinar of the series which is known as ‘Pakistan Economy: Post COVID-19 | Central Bank’s Perspective’ with Dr. Reza Baqir, Governor – State Bank of Pakistan.

Reza Baqir is a Pakistani economist who has been serving as the 20th and current Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan since 2019. They are hosting the second webinar of the series on ‘Pakistan Economy: Post COVID-19’| Central Bank’s Perspective’ with Dr. Reza Baqir, Governor – State Bank of Pakistan. This webinar is currently scheduled on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 3:30 pm. This is based on the initiative of Economic Advisory & Government Relationship Committee which is also in collaboration with CPD and Regional Committees of ICAP. According to ICAP, this webinar series will cover the perspectives of the current state of the economy from the Government, Regulators, Multilateral Institutions, Opposition and Independent Consultants. This will aim to provide a wide picture and understanding to the participants.

In order to register for the free registration, one can register through this link: bit.ly/ICAPwebinar6. One needs to register before 5 pm on 19 May 2020. Since this session is free, one needs to register as quickly as possible since there is a limited capacity of Zoom that can only have the first 500 participants be able to join in on the Zoom session. If the cap is full, the other people can attend the Facebook Live session that will work alongside this.

ICAP plays its role in strengthening the regulatory framework in Pakistan through working in cooperation with important policy making institutions and regulators including the State Bank of Pakistan, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Federal Board of Revenue and other Ministries.
