In its pursuit of nurturing the brightest minds, the government has earmarked a substantial budget of Rs 10 billion for the year 2023-24 to revive the very popular laptop scheme.

This scheme aims to bridge the gap for talented students who, despite achieving laurels in their studies, often face financial constraints and lack access to the latest research tools. By allocating this substantial fund, the government aims to empower these students, ensuring they are equipped with state-of-the-art research techniques and gadgets. This move not only aligns them with international standards but also enhances their competitiveness on both regional and international fronts, ultimately contributing to a robust academic foundation.

The heart of the initiative lies in its objective to provide 100,000 high-quality laptops to exceptional students enrolled in various degree programs within public sector universities. This inclusive approach encompasses students pursuing BS (16 Years), MS/MPhil (18 Years), and PhD degrees. The laptops will be distributed based on enrollment figures within each degree program, ensuring fair distribution and maximizing the positive impact of the scheme.

Through the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, the government seeks to empower these bright minds, enabling them to pursue higher education seamlessly while also laying the groundwork for a prosperous future. This strategic move not only supports students’ academic journeys but also contributes to their potential to make meaningful contributions to society and earn a livelihood that commands respect.

As the government allocates this substantial budget to revive the laptop scheme, it underlines its commitment to fostering a generation of exceptional scholars who can excel both academically and professionally, effectively contributing to the nation’s growth and progress on the global stage.
