Google reinstates the Duo icon, Even while it may be a necessary step, the merging of Google Duo and Google Meet has so far caused a lot of confusion for everyone concerned.

Google reinstates the Duo icon, After the merger is complete, the current Meet app will gradually disappear and be replaced by the Meet app. It coexists alongside the newly introduced, four-color Meet icon, although touching on either symbol launches the identical application. Although you could be excused for believing the reversion was an accident, it appears that this was a highly deliberate action. Google told 9to5Google that it made the decision in order to help people who keep searching for Duo, and can’t find the app because the name changed.

Google brings back Duo icon , The big rebrand is still happening, and the addition of this icon seems to be a transitional thing while people get used to the change. After all, when you tap the Duo icon, the new Google Meet experience, complete with the splash screen that explains the transition in detail, still shows up. Hopefully that means that people looking for Duo will start getting the message about what’s happening to their beloved app.

Similarly, the old Meet app’s icon is still green, acting as a visual cue that it will eventually be taken out. Once everyone is aware of the new, combined experience, the Duo symbol should eventually meet its fate in a few weeks or months. For now, though, you’ll have two icons on your launcher for accessing the same programme.
