Google has announced that Pakistani students aged 18 and above can now avail a free one-year subscription to its AI Pro plan, providing them access to the company’s most advanced artificial intelligence tools. The initiative, part of Google’s wider education-focused efforts, aims to enhance student learning, research, and creativity by integrating AI-driven solutions directly into academic workflows at no cost for the first year.
According to a statement issued by the company, eligible students can verify their status using a valid school email address to activate the offer. Once verified, they can immediately begin using Gemini’s AI capabilities across a wide range of Google services. The Gemini AI Pro Plan grants access to Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro model, which includes advanced features such as Deep Research — a capability designed to support complex academic assignments, research projects, and creative exploration. Students can also benefit from built-in AI support within core Google Workspace applications including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet, helping them summarize emails, draft reports, build presentations, and analyze data more effectively.
In addition to these AI capabilities, the subscription includes access to NotebookLM, Google’s personalized research and writing assistant. This tool enables users to compile and organize study material, generate insights from multiple sources, and maintain structured academic notes using AI-assisted suggestions. Furthermore, students will gain creative access to Google’s latest generative media tools, such as Veo 3 in Gemini and Flow, which allow for the creation of videos and visuals from text or images. To support this extensive use, the plan also provides two terabytes of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos — ensuring students can securely store and manage their academic resources, projects, and creative work.
The company emphasized that this initiative forms part of Google’s mission to democratize AI access for students and young professionals worldwide. The offer is currently available in multiple Asia-Pacific countries, including Pakistan, and aims to help students build practical familiarity with AI tools that are becoming increasingly essential in higher education and future workplaces. While the first year is free, users will have the option to continue their subscription at a cost of approximately Rs. 5,600 per month thereafter.
By offering this access to Gemini AI, Google seeks to encourage the use of generative AI in academic environments, promoting greater efficiency, collaboration, and creativity.
