Google has officially introduced AI Mode in Pakistan, bringing a new era of intelligent and multimodal search powered by a customized version of Gemini 2.5. The feature is now available across mobile and desktop platforms in English, offering users more advanced capabilities than traditional search methods. With this rollout, Google aims to make online searches more intuitive, contextual, and adaptable to everyday scenarios, reshaping how people in Pakistan interact with digital information.

AI Mode extends far beyond the standard list of blue links that users are accustomed to. Instead, it is capable of handling complex and layered queries, processing several sub-questions simultaneously, and delivering comprehensive, real-time responses. This means a user can now ask for multifaceted information — from detailed travel itineraries to product comparisons and learning resources — in one seamless interaction. For instance, a Pakistani traveler planning a trip to Hunza in October can request a five-day itinerary that balances sightseeing, adventure activities, and authentic local food experiences. AI Mode then produces suggestions with follow-up options, making it a more interactive and practical tool than conventional search engines.

Google revealed that queries on AI Mode are often two to three times longer than those on classic search, reflecting how naturally people phrase questions when engaging with this system. The company has also highlighted Pakistan-specific use cases that demonstrate the local relevance of the feature. Students can request free educational resources tailored to their curriculum, parents can find online study guides for children, and home cooks can use Google Lens integration to identify spices from Karachi’s Empress Market and instantly discover how to use them in traditional recipes. By supporting text, voice, and image input, the tool offers seamless accessibility that caters to diverse user preferences across the country.

Behind its functionality, AI Mode uses a “query fan-out” process, where a question is broken down into smaller components, each searched independently before being recombined into a unified answer. The system draws on Google’s Knowledge Graph, product databases, and live web content to generate accurate and context-rich responses, often with citations for verification. Importantly, in cases where the system has low confidence in its AI-generated result, it reverts to the traditional search experience, ensuring reliability and accuracy remain central to user trust.

AI Mode is already live in Pakistan through the Google App on both Android and iOS devices, as well as on mobile and desktop versions of Google Search. While the current version is available only in English, Google has confirmed that future updates will likely include Urdu language support and deeper regional integrations. This expansion would make the feature even more relevant to Pakistan’s diverse user base, providing accessibility to those who prefer to engage with technology in their native language. With the integration of Gemini 2.5 at its core, AI Mode marks a step forward in bringing advanced artificial intelligence into everyday digital interactions in Pakistan, offering a more human-like and context-aware search experience that is both intelligent and practical.
