Google Developer Group have organized the Google I/O Extended in 2019 in Lahore to focus on workshops and code labs that focus on the use of Kotlin for application development
Google Developer Group (GDG) Lahore is a Google developers group in Pakistan which aims to bring together a large group of budding and professional developersfrom Lahore to learn more about Google technologies.They plan to organize regular developer events where developers can showcase their products and interact with other developers. The group is run by volunteers and experts in this field and organize activities that are free for students with the help of their sponsors and supporters. Out of many of these events, the Google Developer Group has recently just organized the Google I/O Extended 2019 in Lahore.
The Google I/O is an annual developer conference held by Google and was inaugurated in 2008. I/O Extended events are held around the world for developers to take part in the Google I/O experience. This year’s event took place on the 6th July 2019 and took place at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. The overall event lasted for 6 hours and took place from 12 – 6 pm. GDG Lahore is organizing this event for the second time in Lahore where multiple beginner-level workshops / code labs will be conducted for the participants. Moreover, various talks will be conducted to ensure discussions are being done regarding the latest developments around Kotlin and Flutter. The Google I/O provides an opportunity to learn major Google technologies through code labs, experts and networking with other developers.
The Google I/O Extended 2019 was a free event and took place at the Academic Block in LUMS. The Google Developers Group have partnered with IEEE Computer Society, INDEX @ LUMS, Google to make sure this event was a success.According to the event page, the code labs and sessions that took place in the 6 hour event included the following subject areas:
