Google Australia visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) earlier this week to discuss potential collaborations and explore opportunities for local manufacturing and assembling of Chromebooks.
The delegation, led by Senior Manager Chrome Enterprise Uzair Rana and Regional Enterprise Max Eddy, met with PITB’s DG e-Governance Sajid Latif, DG IT-Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the benefits of local manufacturing, including cost-effectiveness and customization. They also explored ways to optimize local partnerships and the supply chain.
The Google Australia delegation expressed particular interest in the potential impact of this collaboration on the education sector. By increasing the availability and affordability of Chromebooks, they believe that they can help to improve educational outcomes and enhance accessibility.
The meeting concluded with a positive outlook for future collaborations between Google Australia and the PITB.
