Eisenhower Fellows Pakistan Chapter, Harvard Alumni Association and the American Business Council are hosting an international webinar on December 3 at 4:00 PM Pakistan time to explore how rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics will influence global careers, skills and professional structures. The session will bring together experts from academia, policy, business and technology to examine how fast growing automation will shape employability across sectors. Organizers stated that the discussion aims to help individuals and institutions understand the scale of change driven by intelligent systems and the need for adaptive skill development in the coming years. Participants from Pakistan and abroad are expected to join the session, reflecting the shared global interest in navigating transitions brought by AI.

The invitation highlights that more than one hundred thousand robots are being added to the workforce in the United States in 2025, while China is introducing nearly three hundred thousand robots in the same year. This surge indicates a rapid shift toward automated systems across industries ranging from manufacturing and logistics to services and administrative work. The organizers noted that both blue collar and white collar roles will experience significant transformation as AI systems handle repetitive tasks, advanced analytics and operational coordination. Panelists will examine which roles are most vulnerable, which new skills will emerge as essential and how organizations can support workers with reskilling to reduce social and economic impact. The webinar is expected to address global workforce trends while offering insights relevant to Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape.

The panel features Professor Richard Hill from the University of Huddersfield, who leads the Centre for Industrial Analytics and is affiliated with the Centre for Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. His work focuses on the intersection of data driven technologies and practical industry adoption. Joining him will be Thao Griffiths, Director Public Policy for META across Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia, who brings experience in digital regulation and regional innovation, along with her background as an Eisenhower Fellow. The panel also includes Dr Farrah Arif from Queen Mary University of London, who serves as Deputy Director of Education and Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Communications, offering research based perspectives on how technology influences academic and corporate environments. Dr Shahid Mahmud, Founder of Interactive Group and a Distinguished Eisenhower Fellow, will contribute industry focused insights on technological evolution and its long term impact on businesses.

The session will be moderated by Dr Erfa Iqbal from the Board of Investment, who currently serves as Additional Secretary for CPEC and SEZ and holds a PhD from Peking University. Her experience in economic planning and international development brings a multidimensional perspective to the discussion. With representation from policy, global technology leaders, academia and industry, the webinar aims to guide participants through a clear understanding of the skill sets required to stay relevant as AI accelerates changes across multiple domains. Individuals interested in attending can register through the provided link, which allows participants to confirm their availability and receive access details. Registration is open at this form here. Organizers encourage professionals, students and educators to participate and share the event with colleagues who are preparing to navigate an increasingly automated future.
