Bahria University Karachi Campus recently hosted a dynamic Reverse Pitch session as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week Pakistan 2025, bringing together students, educators, and innovation enthusiasts to explore novel approaches to problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking. The event, held on November 20, flipped the traditional pitching format, allowing participants to present their own ideas and solutions while receiving guidance and evaluation from industry professionals. The session aimed to cultivate creative thinking, strengthen student engagement in entrepreneurship, and encourage innovative approaches to challenges across sectors.

Engr. S. Rizwan Ali, Regional GEN Pakistan Coordinator and Assistant Professor as well as Head of Business Incubation Center at Bahria University Karachi Campus, led the session. He provided insights into the entrepreneurial ecosystem, emphasizing how Reverse Pitch activities help students develop practical skills in pitching, problem-solving, and market validation. Participants were encouraged to think critically about business opportunities, devise actionable solutions, and collaborate with peers to refine their ideas. Engr. Rizwan highlighted that such initiatives equip students with tools to navigate challenges faced by startups and early-stage ventures in Pakistan’s growing entrepreneurial landscape.

The session was hosted by Dr. Raheel, Senior Lecturer in the Bachelor of Science Department, who facilitated discussions and ensured active participation from attendees. Through interactive exercises and evaluative feedback, students gained exposure to real-world business scenarios while developing confidence in presenting and defending their concepts. The Reverse Pitch format allowed students to not only share their ideas but also receive constructive critique, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Attendees engaged in hands-on exercises, discussed potential implementation strategies, and explored pathways for scaling their solutions in practical contexts.

Global Entrepreneurship Week Pakistan 2025 aims to celebrate innovation, collaboration, and the entrepreneurial spirit nationwide, and events like the Reverse Pitch session at Bahria University are central to this vision. By focusing on student-driven ideas and encouraging participation from diverse disciplines, the program highlights the importance of nurturing future entrepreneurs and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and market-ready solutions. The session concluded with participants reflecting on lessons learned and identifying opportunities to further develop their entrepreneurial projects. This activity underscores Pakistan’s growing emphasis on student engagement in startups and innovation, equipping the next generation with the skills and mindset necessary to contribute meaningfully to the country’s startup ecosystem.
