The inaugural session of the first GAIN Cohort has successfully concluded, marking the formal launch of a new initiative aimed at strengthening Pakistan engagement with global technology markets. The opening session signaled a focused start for the cohort, bringing together representatives from IT and ITeS companies seeking guidance on international growth and market positioning. GAIN has been introduced as a platform designed to provide structured exposure to global insights, leadership perspectives, and practical direction for companies navigating competitive international environments.

The opening session titled Future of Global IT Services Where Pakistan Can Lead was led by Mr. Abu Bakar, former Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Software Export Board PSEB, who joined the cohort as a mentor and ambassador. With decades of experience in shaping national IT export strategies, he delivered a detailed webinar that addressed current shifts within global IT services. His discussion focused on how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are influencing service delivery models and reshaping client expectations across international markets. Participants were encouraged to assess how Pakistani companies can align their capabilities with these evolving demands.

A key element of the session involved exploring diaspora led opportunities and their role in facilitating international market entry. Mr. Abu Bakar highlighted how overseas Pakistani professionals and business networks can serve as valuable bridges for local firms seeking credibility and access abroad. He also discussed practical pathways for entering global markets, including positioning strategies, partnership development, and the importance of consistent service quality. The session provided context on how Pakistan IT sector can move beyond transactional engagements toward long term client relationships supported by trust and domain expertise.

The level of participation and depth of discussion during the session reflected strong interest from cohort members and reinforced the core objective of GAIN. By connecting Pakistan IT companies with experienced leadership and global perspectives, the initiative aims to support informed decision making and sustainable expansion. Attendees actively engaged with the topics, sharing perspectives and seeking clarity on challenges commonly faced when operating across borders. The successful completion of the first session established a solid foundation for future engagements under the GAIN Cohort, setting the tone for continued dialogue focused on opportunity identification, strategic growth, and global integration of Pakistan IT services sector.
