Federal government has taken a significant step towards digitalization by mandating that all ministries submit summaries and files to the Prime Minister’s Office exclusively through the E-Office platform starting from November 1, 2024.

Prime Minister’s Office has issued directives to the Cabinet Division and Establishment Division to implement the E-Government Module (E-Office) across the federal government. The Cabinet Division has been tasked with ensuring that all summaries and files are received solely through the E-Office platform from the specified date.

The government’s decision to transition to E-Office is part of its broader efforts to digitize government processes and reduce reliance on paper-based systems. It is estimated that this shift could result in annual savings of Rs 2 billion.
