Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited (FFL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SEED Ventures in Islamabad, marking a new step in its efforts to promote youth development and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The agreement brings Fatima Fertilizer into partnership with Enterprise Challenge Pakistan (ECP), a flagship initiative of King’s Trust International, founded by His Majesty King Charles III, and SEED Ventures. The collaboration is designed to strengthen entrepreneurship education for young people across rural Pakistan, particularly those aged between 14 and 18, while addressing the needs of underprivileged communities, public-sector schools, and children with disabilities.
Enterprise Challenge Pakistan has been one of the most recognized youth entrepreneurship programmes in the country, encouraging innovation and business thinking at an early age. Now in its ninth cycle for 2025–2026, the initiative will reach an estimated 3,000 students from 100 to 120 schools. By working with Fatima Fertilizer, the programme aims to scale its impact further, giving more young people access to structured mentorship, entrepreneurial learning opportunities, and practical experience in business challenges. The programme also highlights a strong focus on gender equality, ensuring girls from rural schools are equally represented in the initiative. The presence of British High Commissioner Jane Marriott at the signing ceremony as chief guest reflected the global attention on partnerships that foster youth empowerment and social progress in Pakistan.
The collaboration is directly tied to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDG 4 on Quality Education, SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. Fatima Fertilizer was the first company in Pakistan to adopt the UNDP SDG Impact Framework, and its ongoing participation in ECP underscores its commitment to sustainable growth and inclusive community development. Senior leadership from all sides emphasized the importance of this initiative. Rabel Sadozai, Director of Marketing and Sales at Fatima Fertilizer, highlighted how the programme nurtures entrepreneurial spirit and equips youth with skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Shaista Ayesha, CEO of SEED Ventures, stressed that the involvement of Fatima Fertilizer lays the foundation for scaling the programme across rural areas and helps in shaping the next generation of agripreneurs.
Speaking on behalf of King’s Trust International, CEO Will Straw shared that strong partnerships such as this one empower youth to translate ideas into tangible actions that can drive progress. Jane Marriott reinforced the importance of such initiatives, noting that Pakistan’s young population holds immense potential and that ECP provides an effective platform to unlock it. From Fatima Fertilizer’s perspective, COO Asad Murad underlined that investing in youth remains one of the most impactful ways to invest in Pakistan’s future. He said that through this collaboration, underserved communities will see greater opportunities for their children to innovate and actively contribute to national progress. Collectively, the partnership is set to encourage a culture of entrepreneurship and create sustainable opportunities for thousands of students who will shape the country’s future economic and social landscape.
