Tech Baithak held the second edition of the Fasset Freelancers Baithak at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi on 10 October 2026, bringing together freelancers, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals for a day of talks and networking. The event, also promoted as Freelancers Baithak 2.0, was organised in partnership with Bank Alfalah, JS Bank, and other industry partners. It took place at the JS Auditorium at the IBA City Campus from 10 am to 5 pm and was presented as a conference where freelancers can connect with founders, CEOs, and industry professionals. A networking hall at the venue gave brands visibility on digital screens while participants met and exchanged contacts.
The programme included a keynote on AI agents by Daniyal Imam, a Senior AI Engineer at TPS Worldwide and an official n8n ambassador for Pakistan, according to Tech Baithak’s promotion of the event. The promotional material also listed n8n, TPS Worldwide, and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme among the supporters. Syed Furqan Azim, a lead trainer, educationist, and entrepreneur, spoke at the event on the invitation of trainer Maryam Rao. He described it as a well-organised event with great opportunities for networking and meaningful conversations, and said he looks forward to being part of more such networking and industry events.
The Karachi event is the first stop of a wider series, as Tech Baithak has said the Freelancers Baithak will travel to Hyderabad, Lahore, and Islamabad after Karachi. After the Karachi chapter concluded, Rao said it was now time to take the series to those cities. Holding the events in several cities lets the organisers reach freelancers who cannot travel to Karachi, and it gives local brands and banks a presence in each community. The format is also timely given the size of the sector, since TechJuice reported from the Paklaunch Unconference 26 in Islamabad that Pakistan has 2.37 million freelancers, which makes it the fourth-largest freelancer market globally.
The same report quoted Ali Dar, Advisor on AI Punjab, who said many young freelancers currently perform jobs worth about $500 a month, and that upgrading their skills with technologies such as AI and blockchain could multiply their earnings 20-fold. That view lines up with the Karachi programme’s focus on AI agents, since freelancers are increasingly being asked to show that they can work with automation tools alongside their core skills. The posts about the Karachi event do not give attendance figures or a full list of sessions, and dates and venues for the Hyderabad, Lahore, and Islamabad chapters were not included, so freelancers interested in those events will need to follow Tech Baithak’s announcements for the schedule.
