Easypaisa has won the award for “Most innovative application of technology” at the 2016 Financial Innovation Awards, held in Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

Financial Innovation Awards recognizes companies that have implemented an innovative project, service or initiative within the banking and financial service sectors.

An independent panel of judges assessed all entries and Easypaisa was amongst the five finalists. Out of dozens of other applicants, Easypaisa was the only Pakistani service to be shortlisted in this international competition.

Expressing his delight, Muhammad Yahya Khan, Head of Easypaisa said, “It is a great honor for Easypaisa to be a globally recognized mobile money service. We deem this award a testament to the trust our customers have in us and the recognition of our efforts in capitalizing technology for positive social change.”

In addition to its success in the domestic markets, Easypaisa has received global recognition in the past as well.

In 2013, Easypaisa was declared the third biggest mobile money service in the world award by CGAP, a unit within the World Bank, and in 2014, Easypaisa won the Best Mobile Money Service award at the annual GSMA Awards in Barcelona. In 2015, Easypaisa won the Wall Street Journal’s Financial Inclusion Challenge.
