DynaSys Networks, an LPWAN IoT network operator and developer of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence for IoT solutions in Pakistan, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the National University of Sciences and Technology to advance collaborative research, technology development and commercialization of practical IoT solutions. The partnership brings together academic research capacity and industry deployment experience within a single collaborative framework.
The collaboration is designed to build Pakistan’s digital ecosystem and accelerate indigenous technology innovation, focusing on priority areas including digital health and medical monitoring, environmental and climate resilient sensing, and energy efficiency solutions. The partnership combines SEECS’s multidisciplinary expertise in artificial intelligence, industrial IoT, embedded systems and digital trust with DynaSys Networks’ industrial capabilities across hardware, firmware, middleware, integration and network infrastructure, giving university researchers a practical platform to move ideas from concept to market ready deployment.
DynaSys Networks Chief Executive Officer Ali Akhtar said innovation delivers its greatest impact when industry and academia work together, framing the collaboration as a shared effort to develop practical IoT solutions addressing challenges spanning smart cities, water management, agriculture, energy and industrial digitalization. NUST Pro-Rector for Research, Innovation and Commercialization Dr. Rizwan Riaz said the partnership reflects universities’ responsibility to ensure research translates into meaningful societal impact, describing it as an important step toward bridging the gap between academic research and real world implementation.
The agreement places significant emphasis on capacity building, with DynaSys Networks committing to support students through semester projects, final year projects, MS and PhD research, and internships. Both organizations also plan to jointly pursue national and international funding opportunities to help scale promising IoT innovations from early prototypes toward nationwide deployment. The MoU was signed on behalf of NUST by SEECS Principal and Dean Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan, with NUST’s collaboration efforts led by Dr. Tauseef ur Rehman, Director of the NUST IoT Lab and Smart Greenhouse Living Lab, who oversees the university’s applied research initiatives in AI enabled industrial IoT and smart agriculture.
