DWP Technologies has successfully designed, built, and deployed a cutting-edge Tier-III Certified Astrolabe Data Center for the Higher Education Commission (HEC), marking a major advancement in Pakistan’s digital and academic infrastructure. This project represents a strategic move toward strengthening the nation’s higher education sector with state-of-the-art data storage and processing capabilities.

The inauguration ceremony took place at NED University, attended by key officials, including Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Vice Chancellor of NED University, Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi, Chairman HEC, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, CEO Huawei, and Maqsood ur Rahman, Country Manager Networks at DWP Technologies. The presence of these dignitaries underscored the importance of this initiative in advancing Pakistan’s digital transformation efforts.

The project was executed in two well-planned phases, leveraging innovative containerized solutions to enhance efficiency, security, and scalability in line with HEC’s growing digital demands. Designed to accommodate a capacity of 4 megawatts, the facility serves as a future-ready hub for seamless data processing and storage, ensuring the resilience of Pakistan’s higher education sector in the digital era.

Maqsood ur Rahman, Country Manager Networks at DWP Technologies, highlighted the project’s significance, stating, “This state-of-the-art data center is a testament to DWP Technologies’ expertise in delivering high-performance infrastructure solutions. By providing HEC with a robust and scalable digital backbone, we are enabling Pakistan’s higher education sector to thrive in the digital age.”

DWP Technologies transformed a raw piece of land into a fully operational, high-performance data center, demonstrating its capabilities in executing large-scale infrastructure projects. The project scope included comprehensive civil works such as land leveling, foundation development, and infrastructure deployment, ensuring a robust structural base for the data center.

The deployment also featured Huawei DC PODs, an advanced data center infrastructure solution designed for reliability and efficiency. To ensure uninterrupted power supply, the facility was equipped with a comprehensive power management system, incorporating generators, transformers, Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and Gen Sync Electrical Panels. These measures ensure continuous operations even in the event of power fluctuations.

Beyond its core data processing capabilities, the facility was designed with specialized infrastructure, including Containerized Power Rooms, AVR Rooms, Gen Sync Rooms, Guard Rooms, Network Operations Center (NOC) Rooms, and Conference Rooms, further enhancing operational efficiency and security.

By delivering this state-of-the-art data center, DWP Technologies is reinforcing HEC’s ability to provide a resilient and future-proof digital ecosystem for Pakistan’s higher education institutions. The enhanced infrastructure will support research, innovation, and academic excellence, ultimately enabling universities and colleges to integrate advanced digital solutions into their operations.

This landmark project underscores DWP Technologies’ commitment to advancing digital transformation in Pakistan, setting a precedent for large-scale IT infrastructure development and strengthening the country’s position in the global digital landscape.
