Dastak – Doorstep Services app, also known as Maryam Ke Dastak, has now extended its reach to 40 districts in Punjab, fulfilling the vision set forth by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The expansion, which was discussed during a progress review meeting led by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Faisal Yousaf on Monday, is expected to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of essential government services across the province.
Though the exact list of newly covered areas remains unspecified, it has been confirmed that the app will now provide citizens with access to 70 government services across a broader range of regions within Punjab. The decision to broaden the service coverage comes in the wake of an ongoing effort to enhance service delivery and streamline government operations.
Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized that the Maryam Ke Dastak initiative is designed to improve public service delivery by leveraging trained representatives who will ensure a smoother, more efficient, and citizen-friendly experience. “The goal of this program is to bring essential services directly to people’s doorsteps, saving them time and effort while reducing the need for travel to government offices,” Yousaf explained.
Dastak app, developed by the PITB, allows citizens to access a wide array of government services, including domicile certificates, FIR copies, birth certificates, learner’s driving licenses, and e-stamping facilities, without leaving their homes. This is a significant step towards improving public service accessibility, especially for those who find it difficult to visit government offices due to time constraints, physical limitations, or other barriers.
The app and its accompanying web portal offer a convenient alternative to traditional methods of service acquisition. For those who prefer voice communication, the helpline 1202 remains available, ensuring that citizens can easily request services and receive assistance.
The expansion of Dastak services is particularly beneficial for women, elderly citizens, and working professionals, who often face challenges in accessing government services during working hours. By delivering services directly to their homes, the app eliminates these obstacles and provides a more convenient and equitable way for all citizens to access essential documents and services.
The app can be downloaded easily via the Google Play Store for Android users and the Apple App Store for iPhone users, ensuring that it is accessible to a wide audience across the province. With its user-friendly interface and streamlined service offerings, the Dastak app is set to continue revolutionizing the way citizens interact with government services in Punjab.
As the app continues to expand, the Punjab government remains committed to providing innovative solutions that improve public service delivery, ensuring that essential services are more accessible, efficient, and transparent. This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to embrace technology and digital platforms to enhance governance and citizen engagement across the province.
