PTA has announced the results of 3G/4G auctioning that successfully took place on April 23, 2014. Zong has won 10 MHz of 3G as well as 18 MHz of 4G technology while Mobilink, Telenor and Warid could only get 3G licenses. The launch of 3G services in Pakistan will significantly change local businesses and add more value to economic condition. PTA Chairman Dr Ismail Shah said, “We are looking at bigger benefits such as the creation of nearly 900,000 jobs and the development of newer, faster applications that will contribute to the improvement of educational, health and financial standards.”
Pakistan to exploit nanotechnology
Nuclear Physician, Dr. N M Butt, while delivering a key note address in a seminar held at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized on the use of nanotechnology in Pakistan. He further explained how Western countries are investing in future application of nanotechnologies for economic growth.
Zong Baqi Paisay Service
Zong has started a service similar to Ufone’s SMS which informs prepaid customers about the amount of credited used in a day. Once subscribed, you will receive a daily SMS with details of your amount consumed and calls made as well as the number of SMS sent. Additionally, you will also be able to keep track of GPRS and VAS usage.
