Warid CEO meets Chairman PTA

Chairman PTA Dr. Syed Ismail Shah held a meeting with Mr. Muneer Farooqui, CEO Warid Telecom in Pakistan. The meeting highlighted on the reports of Warid Telecom is seen to be launching 4G services without participating in Next Generation Mobile Services Award (NGMSA). PTA informed that the offer of 4G/LTE services by the existing licensee will have to go through a process as per their license as well as requirements of assuring proper coverage and quality of service.

Suspended! 

Sindh High has suspended 14 local Loop Licenses issues to Zong by PTA. Suspension was the result of a petition filed by Starlite telecommunication Pvt Ltd. who took the stand and claimed the licenses to be illegal. The date of suspension of licenses is till the next hearing which is expected to commence on 30th April 2014. Till that notices have been issued by court to Government of Pakistan, Zong and Deputy Attorney General to file their responses.

PTA to sue false reporting 

PTA to sue Reuters for false reporting on the issue of bids for 3G and 4G Auction! A day after the submission of bids held for the auction, Reuters reported that bids were not up to the expectations of government and it may stop the progress of the auction taking place. This false statement led to mislead speculations. An official PTA responded that suing UK news Agency is under process. 

Privacy Fix 

AVG launched an app by the name of Privacy fix. AVG launched an application called Privacy fix to give the elders a control over the privacy setting for the whole family. As per this app, people or families simply connect all their social media and from there the app walks you through the privacy settings on every account. This is an effective step for privacy settings for every individual at home, especially teens.
