CEGA has announced its participation in Global Game Jam, one of the world’s largest collaborative game creation events, bringing together game developers, designers, artists, and enthusiasts from Karachi and Lahore for a shared creative experience. The event will take place from January 30 to February 1 and will connect local creators with a global community participating simultaneously across multiple countries. By supporting this initiative, CEGA continues its engagement with Pakistan’s growing game development ecosystem and highlights the increasing interest in interactive digital content creation within the country.

Global Game Jam is widely recognized for its format that encourages participants to build playable games within a limited time frame, fostering experimentation, teamwork, and rapid learning. During the three day event, participants in Karachi and Lahore will work side by side in collaborative environments, transforming ideas into functional game experiences. CEGA’s involvement aims to provide local creators with access to a globally aligned platform where they can exchange knowledge, refine skills, and gain exposure to international creative practices. The event welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds, including students, independent developers, and professionals interested in game design and development.

The Karachi and Lahore jams are expected to serve as hubs for collaboration and community building within Pakistan’s gaming sector. Participants will have the opportunity to form teams, brainstorm concepts, and develop games based on a shared theme revealed at the start of the event. This process encourages creative problem solving and hands on experimentation with game mechanics, storytelling, and technology. For many participants, Global Game Jam also serves as an entry point into the game development industry, offering practical experience and peer learning in a supportive environment. CEGA’s role in facilitating participation reflects its broader objective of nurturing talent and strengthening creative digital industries.

Registrations for the event are currently open and will close on January 23. Interested participants can sign up through the official registration link, which has been shared by the organizers and embedded for access. By joining the jam, participants become part of a global network of creators working simultaneously across different regions, contributing to a shared archive of games developed during the event. CEGA’s participation underscores the growing momentum of Pakistan’s game development community and its connection to international creative movements. The Global Game Jam weekend is expected to provide valuable learning experiences while reinforcing collaboration between creators in Karachi, Lahore, and beyond.
