Beaconhouse National University is hosting a free online webinar titled “Data First, AI Second” on May 2, 2026, bringing together innovation and governance professionals to explore why a sound data strategy is the true foundation of artificial intelligence and why organisations that skip this step consistently struggle to realise the full value of their AI investments. The session will be held at 6:00 PM on Zoom, and interested participants can register directly here.

The webinar will be hosted by Uzair Shahid, Head of Innovation at Beaconhouse National University, and will feature Muhammad Qasim, Program Governance Director, as the guest speaker. The pairing of an innovation leader with a governance expert is a deliberate framing of the conversation, reflecting the webinar’s core argument that artificial intelligence cannot deliver meaningful outcomes in organisations where data collection, quality, storage, and governance have not been addressed first. This is a theme that has gained considerable urgency as Pakistani enterprises and institutions rush to adopt AI tools without the underlying data infrastructure to support them effectively.

The session arrives at a critical moment in Pakistan’s digital maturity curve, where enthusiasm for artificial intelligence across both the public and private sectors is running high but practical understanding of what makes AI deployable at scale remains uneven. For professionals working in technology, data management, product development, and organisational leadership, the webinar offers a timely opportunity to engage with practitioners who have navigated these challenges in real institutional settings. Participation is open to all and registration is free, making it accessible to students, early-career professionals, and senior decision-makers alike who are looking to build a more grounded understanding of how data strategy and artificial intelligence relate to one another in practice.
