Aqua Agro, an exciting AgriTech startup that allows farmers to save 50% of irrigation water, while actually increasing yield

It is estimated that by 2025 Pakistan is to run out of water and reports show that Pakistan has already touched the ‘water stress line’ in 1990 and crossed the ‘water scarcity line’ in 2005. The problem is great and is surely to affect the largest industry i.e. Agriculture in the country as it consumes 60% of the fresh water resources of Pakistan.

Therefore in order to help tackle the problem is Aqua Agro, an exciting AgriTech startup that allows farmers to save 50% of irrigation water, while actually increasing yield. In order to help the farmers and to install their devices at 50 small farms they have launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding funding campaign.

What makes the startup ecofriendly and cheap is that the Artificial Intelligence, AI, and Internet of Things, IoT, based tech is considerably cheaper than the traditional drip agriculture, and therefore makes Aqua Agro scalable in a country like Pakistan. The Founder/CEO of the startup is Dr. Muhammad Khurram.

The startup, thus far has deployed the IOT devices in 6 farms in Sindh that has provided them with fruitful results. These devices have helped save thousands of liters of water and grown more crop in the farms
