Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and FAST-NUCES, Islamabad Campus, have formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to support technological innovation and youth development through a collaboration focused on artificial intelligence. Under the agreement, FAST-NUCES Islamabad will serve as the academic collaborator and official host venue for the Islamabad Regional Round of the Alibaba Cloud AI Hackathon Pakistan 2026, which is being organised by Alkhidmat Foundation. The partnership brings together an academic institution and a development-focused organisation around an event intended to provide young participants with an opportunity to work on artificial intelligence-related challenges and develop practical technology skills.

The Islamabad regional round will be hosted at FAST-NUCES Islamabad as part of the wider Alibaba Cloud AI Hackathon Pakistan 2026. The university’s role as academic collaborator places it at the centre of the Islamabad stage of the competition, providing an institutional setting for participating teams and activities associated with the hackathon. Alkhidmat Foundation is organising the national initiative, while FAST-NUCES will contribute through its academic collaboration and hosting role. The partnership reflects the increasing involvement of universities in programmes that connect students and young technology professionals with emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and software development.

The collaboration also highlights the role of hackathons in creating opportunities for young people to apply technical knowledge to practical problems. AI-focused hackathons typically bring participants together to develop technology-based solutions within a defined period, allowing them to work across areas such as artificial intelligence, data processing, software development and cloud technologies. In this case, the event is associated with Alibaba Cloud, while the Islamabad regional round will be facilitated through the partnership between Alkhidmat Foundation and FAST-NUCES. The initiative is also linked with Cognix, as reflected in the organisations and hashtags included in the announcement, bringing additional visibility to the technology-focused programme.

For FAST-NUCES Islamabad, hosting the regional round provides a platform for students and other participants to engage with an AI-focused technology event in an academic environment. For Alkhidmat Foundation, the MoU establishes an academic partnership for delivering the Islamabad round of its hackathon initiative. The collaboration is part of a broader effort to connect youth with technology opportunities and encourage participation in emerging fields. With artificial intelligence becoming increasingly relevant to software development, business applications and digital services, initiatives such as the Alibaba Cloud AI Hackathon Pakistan 2026 provide a setting where participants can explore these technologies through practical activities. The Islamabad regional round will therefore bring the hackathon’s activities to the FAST-NUCES campus under the newly established partnership between the two organisations.
