Nestled in the stunning landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan, the region is gaining recognition as an agritourism destination, thanks to strategic partnerships involving Concave AGRI, Future Farms, and Apex Farms. This collaboration aims to not only reshape farming practices but also attract tourists seeking unique and immersive farming experiences.

Concave AGRI and Future Farms are working together to enhance garlic production in the region, emphasizing the implementation of value-addition techniques. Field visits by the AGRI team include comprehensive advisory sessions focused on effective growth management and strategies to enhance garlic crop production.

Future Farms’ interventions address challenges in fruit farms by advocating for certified nurseries. This strategic move seeks to modernize orchard management practices, introducing innovative techniques such as prototype nurseries. Collaborations with Apex Farms extend to various aspects, including potato seed tuber multiplication, G1 garlic production, G1 garlic pickle production, and the establishment of disease-free orchards.

The vision of Future Farms is to transform into a hub for value-added fruit production, focusing on peaches, walnuts, apricots, and cherries. This initiative includes training locals in standardized production methods with the goal of capturing national and international markets to boost commercial entities and tourism-driven sales.

Several diversified agricultural initiatives are underway, including the replacement of old orchards with certified nurseries, the introduction of olive and kiwi production through the Mountain Agriculture Research Center in Jaglot, and the promotion of new grass types like ray grass among local farmers. These initiatives signify significant strides towards sustainable and diversified agriculture.

The collaborative efforts witnessed during this transformative visit signal the onset of an agricultural revolution in Gilgit-Baltistan. The synergistic approach between Concave AGRI, private sector players, and local stakeholders is poised to bring about a fundamental transformation in farming techniques, productivity, and economic prospects. As these partnerships strengthen, a thriving agricultural landscape and sustainable growth are on the horizon for Gilgit-Baltistan.
