The National Database and Registration Authority has rolled out Version 5.0.0 of the Pak ID Mobile App, adding Urdu menus and a range of upgraded features to streamline Pakistan’s identity registration system. This new version is aimed at making the process more accessible and efficient for both local and overseas citizens. NADRA said the update reflects its commitment to expanding digital public services by bringing a complete ID registration experience to users’ smartphones. The addition of Urdu menus makes the app more user-friendly, particularly for rural populations who may be more comfortable with the national language, allowing them to navigate the app without difficulty.
According to NADRA, Version 5.0.0 introduces a redesigned dashboard that simplifies navigation and improves the overall user experience. Enhanced search options have been incorporated to help applicants quickly locate services and information, while the process for cancelling identity cards has been made faster. The app also now features real-time application tracking through its inbox, enabling users to stay updated on their application status without needing to visit physical centres. Another major step includes the launch of an online death registration service in collaboration with Union Councils in selected districts, which allows citizens to complete the process digitally rather than through paperwork at local offices.
The upgraded Pak ID Mobile App provides several important services, including facial biometric verification, access to family records without biometrics, online appointment booking at NADRA centres, and secure fee payments for Smart NIC, Child Registration Certificates, and Family Registration Certificates. These features are designed to reduce in-person visits and provide a complete digital solution. Users can sign up, select the service they need, capture live photos and fingerprints, upload documents, pay fees online, and then track their applications until delivery, all from their smartphones.
NADRA has also enhanced its support for overseas Pakistanis through the updated app. Citizens living abroad can now apply for or renew a NICOP entirely online. The process involves uploading required documents, filling in personal details, submitting attested forms, and making secure payments, with the completed cards delivered directly to their overseas addresses. NADRA emphasized that Version 5.0.0 offers faster performance, improved security, and a completely paperless process. The authority urged both local and overseas Pakistanis to download the updated app to take full advantage of its improved features and to make their identity registration and related services more convenient.
