Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula, met with the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to discuss matters of mutual interest, digitalization, and e-governance.
During the meeting, the minister highlighted Pakistan’s rapid progress in the IT and telecommunication sector. She emphasized the government’s commitment to digital transformation under the vision of the Prime Minister, aiming to digitize society, economy, and governance.
The minister further stressed the importance of digital payments in driving economic growth and efficiency. She noted that Pakistan is actively working towards becoming a cashless economy and encouraged Ethiopia to benefit from Pakistan’s experiences in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The Ambassador of Ethiopia expressed his admiration for Pakistan’s IT sector and expressed a desire to strengthen bilateral ties in this area. He emphasized Ethiopia’s aspiration to learn from Pakistan’s experiences in ICT infrastructure development.
